04 May Sarah Morrissey
Hi, I’m Sarah the salon owner, Managing Director, educator and mentor for the team. I’ve been hairdressing since 1989 and my passion for this incredible industry remains undiminished. I launched Sarai Hair and Beauty in 2005 and have continued to grow and expand the salon and team.
I’m always experimenting with different ways to develop the business and team to ensure ongoing success and to stay current and on trend. Excellent customer service is a cornerstone of our business as is our focus on the complete client journey.
I appreciate that my staff spend a lot of time at work. I’ve created a working environment that motivates and inspires them, powers their passion, and encourages loyalty. My commitment as an employer boosts personal progression, job satisfaction and ultimately elevates ‘just a job’ into a career to be proud of.
I’ve been a qualified educator and assessor for NVQs in hairdressing for nearly 20 years, recently creating the Sarai Academy. Sharing my hairdressing and presentation skills is a joy. I get a real buzz from bringing out the best in each team member. My main inspiration is my team, they’re talented, motivated, caring and creative.
I’ve introduced a caring and sensitive service for clients with cancer and medical hair loss as part of the ‘My New Hair Charity’ created by Trevor Sorbie. I’m trained in wig personalising, including cutting and styling.
Currently I’m studying for a three-year Level 5 degree in Trichology, at The Institute Of Trichologists. Being medically trained as a Clinical Trichologist, I’ll be able to diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the hair and scalp, including shedding and hair loss. My aim is to combine hairdressing and trichology within the salon.
I love Sarai Hair & Beauty, my team, and our clients, most of whom have been with me from the start. We’re like one big happy family.
Winner of Business Salon of the Year 2021 at the Salon Business Awards and a shortlisted finalist in the Salon Team category and Ultimate salon also. Shortlisted finalists in the British Hairdressing Awards 2021.
In 2019 I was a member of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Barber Project Team.
Recognised as one of England’s 100 top employers for apprenticeships and training, because of my serious commitment to both.
2012 – 2022 recipient of PHAB Service Star award. Recognises and celebrates the professional business and customer care policies of those in the hair and beauty industry.
My maxim: Choose a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life!
