This policy helps us identify any potential allergies or sensitivities to the products we use, giving you peace of mind and ensuring the best possible results.
When Is a Skin Test Required?
A skin test is mandatory for the following services:
- Hair Colouring Services: Including permanent and semi-permanent colours, highlights, and balayage.
- Chemical Treatments: Such as smoothing, or straightening treatments.
- Lash and Brow Treatments: Including tints, lifts, and lamination.
- CRLab Hair replacement systems: Including adhesives, tape and the systems base
How Does a Skin Test Work?
- The test involves applying a small amount of the product to a discreet area of skin, typically behind your ear or on your inner arm.
- This should be done at least 48 hours before your appointment to allow time for any reactions to occur.
Who Needs a Skin Test?
- New Clients: All first-time clients receiving colour or chemical services. You will also require a consultation before a colour or chemical service.
- Returning Clients: If it has been more than 6 months since your last service or if you’ve had a change in your medical history, including pregnancy or illness.
- Product Changes: If we introduce new formulas or brands for treatments.
Important Notes
- No Exceptions: We cannot proceed with your service without a valid skin test. This is for your safety and is non-negotiable.
- Reactions: If you experience redness, itching, swelling, or any discomfort during or after the test, please contact us immediately.
- Convenience: Skin tests are quick and free of charge! Simply drop by the salon to complete it.
